Tiger setup questions

I have a live redwood tree burl that I'd like to put in my tiger terrarium. It currently lives in a half-inch dish of water and grows little ferns. Would this be ok? What other plants do well in terrariums?

yeah and what about when the tree grows up? lol. i don't know anything about sals, so i am no help.

It's just a burl, so I don't think it'll turn into a tree. It's been around for about 9 months now and so far it's all ferns.
