I think I made a mistake ;(
My water levels looked good and I read that I could have sand in the tank as long as it was fine, and aquarium safe. But he's SO LITTLE- and everyone now says that he will eat the sand. So I put the little black worms in a dish with a rim hoping they wouldn't wiggle out- The man I bought the Lotl from said that's what he does, but these little worms are swimming everywhere and are on the sand. I panicked and got a plastic food container, cleaned it really well- put some dechlorinated water in it and a few ice cubes so the water would get cold and put the Lotl in it. I took all the sand out and planted my plants in the cut off bottoms of plastic cups for now- in sand. The rest of the tank has nothing but some large smooth stones and a hide. His other hide is in the container he's in.
But now my water's super cloudy....Should I keep him in the container untill it is clear? and if so, how do I keep the container the right temperature? I'm so afraid I might kill him right after I got him! I did a lot of research, but I guess it wasn't enough! I missed up!

How long can I keep him in the food container? Do I cover it so he can't escape? I read other people did this and did water changes daily until their tank was settled and ready. I guess I should have waited- but I got him now. My main concern is the temperature!

I think that sand goes right through the system. I never heard people complaining about that.
