wow! those are beautiful. you've made up my mind with these pics and you T. vittatus to go in for just triturus.
 
For the karelinii, I don't know where they come from. There are young of young of young.... of animals of a friend of mine (I must ask him where came from the first parents).For the first generation of vitattus, I think he told me they come from russia (where exactly ??)

do you really sure that this spezies is a Triturus karelinii? It looks like a mixture with T. dobrogicus.I have russian T. karelinii (Georgia) and they looks like absolutely different.

it could be very interesting to see regional variations of Triturus karelinii . The karelinii's of Jean Pierre are amazing , had crested of Dobrogicus , how are the caucasian karelinii's? have you any photo?
 
I am sure of nothing, but i know there are many forms of karelinii. I post photos of a female (sister of the male). you can compares these one with your karelinii from russia (take care, the color of the photo is not exact,there is two much red).
