Have you seen newt eggs of other related species? I would expect T. pygmaeus eggs to be almost exactly the same size as other species. I've never actually measured any of them precisely... is that what you need?
Or are you trying to distinguish between newt eggs versus snail eggs or something else in the tank?
Thanks for your answer I just wanted to know if anyone can tell me exact size because I'm doing some studies concerning newt eggs and why different sizes are evolving. I accepted pygmaeus eggs to be same size as other triturus species, but hoped somebody knows it for sure I searched a lot but couldn't find anything..
I don't have numbers for you but I believe eggs sizes of all (?) salamander and newt species vary with the size and age of the individual female, and this is also connected to the number of eggs.
All spanish literature i´ve been able to find seems to agree that T.marmoratus and T.pygmaeus both have eggs of the same size. I haven´t been able to find any reference to diferences between the two species.
I´d suspect all the species in the Triturus genus will have eggs of the same size on average, with very slight variation...
