Hello everyone
My name is Nathan. I have been reading these forums for a while but this is the first time i have posted.
I have 3 wildtype axolotls in quite a big tank (1.5m long) and was just wondering if a turtle would get torn into little pieces by my axolotls. If anyone has ever tried this can they please tell me weather it worked or not.
The turtle would be a red eared slider.
All help, tips, etc is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Im no expert but maybe u could divide your tank to accomodate both turtle and axies?

Your axolotls would be torn apart by your turtle.

Axolotls should only be housed with axolotls.

Turtles are pretty messy, I would house them in their own tanks rather than use a divider.

Turtles and axolotls have different needs, housing and temperature wise, and like Cynthia said, a turtle would easily injure and kill an axolotl with little hesitation.

I would have a platform made of rocks that the axolotls can go under and the turtle can go ontop of, with the UV light above the rock to avoid heating the water.
But, as you said, if it could put my axolotls in danger then i will keep it far away from them!
Thanks for all the help!

Nathan- my sister has a red eared slider. It frequently catches 20 goldfish in 5 min or less.

I don't think there is an "if" in this situation. The axolotls would be eaten.
