Hi everyone! Has anyone had any two headed larvae that has hatched and made it? I have two in a current clutch!

Thanks!

I have never heard of a two headed axie, but in other species they don't usually live for long. :/

I think I have seen this maybe once before, but the larvae did not survive long. Please do keep us posted :)
Out of interest, roughly out of interest, how old are the parents?

WOW!!! Coooool! i Hope they survive! please, do keep us updated!!

Pretty neat. I do know of a bearded dragon that lived for quite a long time with two heads. not any axolotl though.

There's a first time for everything! Keep us posted.

one of burrito's siblings hatched without developing a head according to the breeder and lived almost a whole week

I've had several show up before too, but they have never survived to the hatching stage.

Very cool. Did they hatch yet?

bump! I'm also very curious to hear what happened with the eggs!

I'm sure they didn't, otherwise she would have told us all about it. THis user hasn't visited the forum since 2016, so don't hold your breath for an answer. Sorry! I would have loved an update as well.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
