I looked at my shanjing morphs closely today and even though many are still small, some of them have chubby bellies now too.

By the way Andy, how old and how big is that pic of the shanjing above?

Hi Rachel, my c/b Shanjing morphed about 14 months ago and they're all different sizes. The biggest i guess is around 3.5 to 4 inches...though some are a bit smaller. Mine were very dark when they morphed and got their typical colouring about two or three months after metamorphosis.

Andy:

When you kept your shanjing juves at the smaller sizes..did you keep them together or did you break them up?

Just wondering how you knew they were all getting food.

Hi Gord,
I kept my group together, though there were only six...a larger group i would probably split up so i could monitor them better....this is what i'll do with the Kweichows (by the way, one has morphed!)
As for my knowing they were eating... i found them to be real easy to feed, in fact they acted like typical Shanjing adults and would eat pretty much whenever i dropped a worm in front of them. Any picky ones i'd just remember and pay a little more attention to.
