Good morning!

I have a 55 gallon, unheated paludarium with a fairly large land area, about 3.5 feet long by six to ten inches wide, covered with lush mosses, anubias, dwarf bamboo, and Himalayan maidenhair fern. This area is kept fairly damp and cool by a tube dripping water from a waterfall overflow, creating a few small puddles and areas of varying dampness/dryness. I think it would make an excellent habitat for a couple of T. shanjing.

My question is about the aquarium area below: It is a hillstream biotope; the water is about 10 inches deep, with moderate, directional current. There are easy pull-out areas all along, especially on the downstream side (anubias roots and leaves, a floating piece of driftwood, and the land area that slopes down to water level).

I have a feeling that sooner or later that shanjing is going to slip and fall into the water, and I wonder how well they swim. If and when it lunges for a cricket and falls in, will it be able to get out?

Here's a video of the tank, to give you an idea of the setup. Thoughts?
