I have seen some T. asperrimuss for sale recently and I am wondering what are the temperature guidelines for the max and min. I have been told that the animals originated from China.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Declan

I believe that these animals are montane, so you you will need to keep them cool. Somewhere between 15 and 18C would probably be the safest region, maybe up to 20C. I haven't kept this species, but hopefully someone who has maintained them successfully can help you.
Be aware that these animals will likely be wild caught, so they will be highly stressed and likely to go down with sores etc, as well as the ethical issues of harvesting adults from small wild populations. If you haven't kept terrestrial Tylototriton before, it may be a good ida to start with CB T. shanjing or similar.

Agree with Chris here. Indeed not the easiest. Much less taking the fact they are indeed, WC. It might be better you to ask someone near you for some CB shanjing or kweichowensis then you could advance further in the terrestrial Tylototriton world.
Cheers,

Thanks guys for the information.

I have a small group of shanjing and some verrucosus which are thriving so I was interested in both kweichowensis and asperrimuss but it is most probable that both species are from the wild?

I don't know of anyone in Ireland keeping any of the tylotriton species but I would be interested in hearing if there are any people out there keeping them?

Thanks again,

Declan
