UK newt law questions

Hello everyone,

I have seen someone on social media such as YouTube take a picture of the newt. Is it an offense to the law if you pick up newts and photograph them (maybe in a white background/backdrop) in the same area that you found it, or do I need a license?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
