I'm looking for some recommendations for shipping newts both in the UK and overseas. I'm assuming there are courier companies here who'll take live animals for a price and deliver next day within the UK?

What do people do about sending newts overseas i.e. other EU countries? I've used regular post before which was slow and clearly against the rules as laid down by the UK postal service. Whenever I advertise newts for sale I always get lots of requests from outside of the UK and it would be nice to have a legal and relatively quick delivery option. I suspect it would be prohibitively expensive but that would be for the buyers to decide.

Any experiences you could share would be welcome.

When i had enquires for newts from Europe i could never find a courier who would take them.
I had a friend who was going to Gersfeld and i organised for people to pick them up there. I also had him bring me a lot of newts back without any problem and all the newts arrived very healthy.
I had newts sent from salamanderland that arrived safe and healthy but i cant remember who they used, sorry!

I think Salamanderland put their animals in the regular post. I know some of the newts I bought from there got delayed at a Post Office in Austria and died on route to the UK. I would be suprised if the airline that flew them here knew there were live animals in the package.
