Long post but I figured full context was best to figure out what’s wrong.

I have 5 total, 3 (leucitic) of them I’ve had for 2 years while I’ve had the other 2 (wild type) for 1 year. One of the wild types is the one I’m worried about.

Right off the bat she was very picky, refused red wigglers so I fed mainly pellets after this point. Even with pellets shes never been a voracious eater like my others but I didn’t get concerned until recently.

When I first noticed she was losing weight (probably 5 months ago?) I started watching them when I fed pellets to make sure she was eating and there wasn’t any aggression. I haven’t noticed much other than she ate less. Ive been monitoring feedings since then and I feel her appetites further declined.

The last 2 ish months I started feeding night crawlers with tweezers so I could make sure everyone was eating. I cut them in half and all of my newts eat 1.5-2.5 worms while she only eats 1/2. The others also snap up the worms immediately while I have to coax her into eating.

In the last few weeks I’ve been offering her food everyday on top of feeding every 3 days. Some days she takes it some days she doesn’t but she never eats more than half of one. This is helping a bit but not as much as I’d like.

40 g tank, test regularly and haven’t had any parameter issues. Sits around 68 degrees, Live plants, sand substrate. maintenance done as needed etc. everything is fine tank wise and I’m having no issues with my others

photos of her alone, 2 with her sister, one of my largest males for comparison, and 1 of the tank

I don't think it's emaciated, but it is a little underweight (maybe). In every batch I've had I see individuals which remain smaller/thinner. I've got a male which is about 10 years old. He's a lot thinner and smaller than your animals and doesn't eat much, but is completely healthy and even goes into courtship with females twice it's size. As long as it keeps on eating and shows normal behaviour then you might just have a small specimen.

That’s good to hear! It probably just looks extreme compared to my other 4. I’ll keep an eye on her eating habits but Im not as concerned as I was initially. Thank you!!
