Thought Id post some new photos of Haku since I've finally met him. He's about 13.5cms. In the right light, his gills are incredibly pink, and his body also has that pinkish hue like a leucistic, but his head is greeny tinged like that of a wildtype. His gill "feathers" are very long in some places, I think hes absolutely gorgeous.

wow haku is pretty awesome. is this the type of axolotl coming out of NZ? Congrats

have you found out a specific morph that he is or just a unique mix? maybe even a "chimera"

What a pretty leucistic.;)

There's been a few different opinions of what type he is. A slow growing wild type, a leucistic, a light wildtype. He doesnt seem to be changing much. From an amateurs POV he just looks like a spotty leucistic, perhaps from a leucistic/wildtype couple.
We have the basic colours in NZ too, but I saw a batch of gorgeous dirty looking babies and couldn't resist getting one. He's turned out to be my prettiest boy :) I love his blue eyes
