Update on 20 gallon

Heres what the final product looks like. I transferred everything from the 10 gallon over to the 20. I also transferred all the sand so as to carry over BB. The newts have been submerged since the move. The little one found the food bowl and ate & they each have done some exploring. The rock is a waterfall reptofilter with minimal current. They dont seem to mind it at all. Let me know what you guys think !

It's getting there, do make sure you keep a check on ammonia and nitrite while the system cycles though, things can creep up to dangerous levels quite quickly in a new tank. If you add more live plants as and when you can it will help keep things in check and speed the cycling process.

I will definitely monitor amonia levels . I plan to do a water change every two days if not weekly. The newts did well in the 10 gallon when i first got i and it wasnt cycled. Just had to treat the water and do daily water changes. This time the waters filtered for 24+ hrs . The decor, sand and live plants should have some established bacteria and the volume of water is greater so i think it was a good move. I also let the tank run with API QUICKSTART over night and added some more in the morning and hour or two before adding the newts to let the particles disperse and settle. Water isnt cloudy at all and i have tested the Gh KH. Etc and they are ok. The newts are putting on weight !
