Looking to use my experience with my first 15g tank and one axolotl to get a bigger tank and possibly get one or two more axolotl. What would be a good size tank i could raise my axies in for life?

It really depends on how many axies you want to put in there. You're going to want at minimum 1 square foot of floor space per axie, the more the better, really.
I wouldn't suggest keeping any more than 3 in a 3' tank, 4 in a 4' etc.

Remember as well that if you've got more axies you're going to need more places for them to hide in - at least two or three decent hides per resident.

I would agree with Frank, but I would like to add that width of the tank also plays a roll. Its not as simple as saying 4 in a 4' tank. For example, a 55gal tank is 48''x12.5'x21" and would hold four, but a 120gal wide tank is 48''x24''x24'' and would hold 6. Both are technically 4' tanks, but the footprint is different.
