have a male who was fine wed/Thursday. Yesterday I noticed one side of his cloaca was swollen. It progressed rapidly throughout the day until I decided to fridge. I am doing full water changes and keeping an eye on him, but haven’t seen an improvement. Any ideas on what the issue is? I am at a loss and scared for him. We are searching for a vet that will see him. I am just still worrying in the meantime and am hoping for answers.

Sorry, it’s been hectic. We found a vet in the neighboring state and was diagnosed with an infected or inflamed hemipenes. We left him there for treatment. They had him on antibiotics and had planned to drain/remove the mass today and we were to pick him up this afternoon. Unfortunately, he passed this morning before they were able to do the procedure. They are performing a necroscopy to verify and see what caused him to pass so quickly since they said he was fine last night.
