Ok, so. Im going on a business trip and will be a few states away from the 19th to the 26th. And then in December I am going home (10 hr car drive) for ~2 weeks give/take a few days.

So I am wondering what I should do to ensure that my Axie gets fed. I plan on doing large water changes/cleanup before and after returning from my trips so Im not insanely concerned about that. But Im not sure if any of my friends will be able to stop by and feed him (since they will likely be home visiting their families for xmas as well).

Any suggestions for me?

If at all possible I would suggest taking him with you for the 2 week trip.

How old is he? How often is he fed? Does he have any issues or health concerns right now?

Not sure of the exact age, but he is a juvenile and usually eats twice-ish a day. No health problems that I know of.

Again, if at all possible I would take him with you on vacation. Juveniles need regular feedings, since they grow so rapidly.

For a week you could get away with having a friend come over and feed him once a day.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
