I must admit to being something of a womble when it comes to feeding my Axie pair :D

So far they have had at various times:

Snails, deshelled but whole.
Feral Goat meat.
Possum meat
Possum kidney and liver
Rabbit meat
Rabbit kidney
Rabbit liver
Beef kidney
Beef veal
Earthworms (the most common feed)
Tiger worms/Compost worms
Moths
Earwigs
Woodlice/Slaters
Blowflies
Sexton beetles
Leveret (Juvenile Hare) heart
Leveret meat
Leveret liver
Huhu grub
Black beetle grub
Grassgrub

Certainly a well rounded diet :D Gievn I like a varied diet, I don't see why my pets should be denied the same ability to experience different foods. :p

Wow, that is a varied diet.

Mine get nightcrawlers, red wigglers, crickets, pinkies, rosy red minnows, guppies, white cloud minnows, deer meat, trout eggs, snails, squirrel meat, hellgramites, dragonfly nymphs, and toad tadpoles.

Hi,

@Greatwtehunter: you feed your axies dragonfly nymphs? I´ve heard they could harm the axies, so I´ve never had the courage to feed them to my axies. Do you kill them before feeding? What are your experiences?

The dragonfly nymphs will eat larval axolotls but not adults. When I am feeling lazy I will just crush the heads and then drop them in the tank but usually I feed them to them using forceps.

Thanks Justin :D..............I´ve heard they could bite the axies internal (mouth, stomach) when being fed, but maybe it´s only a fairy tale.

Hmm, I missed out mouse, and just added a new food to the list, SHot a Stoat in a rabbit cage where it got in and was bothering a show purebred buck, so the axies had ferret meat today.

arthemia (brineshrimp)
daphnia (waterfleas)
bloodworms
fresh water shrimps
guppies (always an nice show to look at axies hunt them down)

Where on earth do you all find these exotic meals for your axolotls?
And why are maggots bad?

Mine, I live on a farm, I shoot rabbits, hares, possums, feral goats and various other furry critters that live on the place eatign grass that should go into growing beef on the hoof for us to sell to the works :p

The insects, worms, moths and snails, all come from the garden or lawns or the trees nearby.

English isn't Tuxars native language, I think by "High level of water nutrition" means they foul the water if the squish when bitten. they're little more than a skin around sloppy soup innards.
