Veins in axolotl tail! Please Help!

Help! I just started to notice my axi Zolo started to get veins in his tail it wasn’t there before... does he look sick to you? And a few days ago I noticed the end of his tail tip (super small couldn’t even get a photo) was kinda flimsy/paper thin looking.. He’s been eating (took those photos when I was feeding him) and active as usual.. is this just normal? Should I be worried? Please help! Much appreciated 💚

Hey so when they are little they are very translucent, so I don’t think it’s anything to be worried about.. however if this is out of the norm, def check your water parameters! They are very sensitive so when their water levels are off it can cause issues

    with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

    Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

    Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
