Hi all,

Some photos of small dark variety verrucosus larvae. These are F1 of the animals in this thread: http://www.caudata.org/forum/messages/13/45902.html?1133377056 The small dark variety in the upper photo. The photos are not of the best quality because these animals aren't very cooperative

And a juvenile:

Especially interesting is the fact that these juveniles don't yet show the distinctive triangular head of the adults. I wonder when they will develop this, perhaps when they reach maturity?

Mark, very interesting! They look just the same as the juvenile and larvae big dark variety.

Go measure the head length and width!

Yes they indeed look quite similar, though the adults are completely different. Head length and width are indeed interesting to see develop, so I'm going to raise 10 juveniles separate after metamorphosis to collect data about their growth.

Most larvae are 9-10 cm now, and begin to show signs of metamorphosis, but 2 of them already metamorphosed a few weeks before Christmas and are also 9 cm's now. This shows that there is a lot of variation in metamorphosis length.

these are what my tylos used to look like a few months ago
