Want to buy Red-spotted or Broken striped Newts

One of my two red spotted newts died and i was wondering if anyone else was selling them... I want a companion for my little buddy...He is only 2 1/2 inch long too... Or possibly a black spotted or broken striped if they can live with him.

it is a shame that easterns are sold so freely on the pet trade as they are so hard to keep long term. it is not uncommon to have them do fine for a year then just all die within a short amount of time. be assured they are not social outside of breeding season they do not need 'companions'. broken striped are on many want lists and are hard to come by. i kept some for a friend for about 8 months-they even bred for me-i sent him back the parents and raised up the young -they bred the next year then died themselves-their offspring just died about 5 months ago w/o breeding for me. you may want to try a different species that is easier to keep in the long run and will save you the heartache.

Thanx Paris, I will just keep my little guy alone then... I was told all this about them being hard to keep after they sold me them... Ugh Pet shops Anger me.

i've had my one broken striped newt for like 5 years now (mabeye longer i don't remember) he's still going strong and i want a mate for him
