I’m planning on getting some Spanish ribbed or fire belly newt larvae. I raised spotted salamanders from eggs in the past so I’ve got an idea on how it goes. I was wondering if I need to use cycled water? Or if there’s any specific water conditions I should have for them?

Use a cycled aquarium. If you don't have a space cycled aquarium, definitely start one up. Have a lid and a fan blowing on the surface to cool the water. When you get the larva, temperature acclimate them just like fish. Have live plants, and treat it just like any other aquarium doing regular water changes.
