Water hardness?

Hiya, I supplement every new batch of water with blue salts to keep the water at around 7 - 8 dGH. A woman in a pet store told me that axies like it closer to 10, but I don't trust information given out by pet store people.
I was wondering what dGH is recommended for axolotls?
