Water Issue, in need of advice!!

Hi guys, I have a cute three year old axie named Who. Recently I rescued a fancy rat (side note his name is Tulio), anyway the reason I bring this up is because one of my friends put a toy in the rat cage, which Tulio promptly pushed out of his cage, and it fell into the axolotl tank below.
The problem lies within the toy, as the green "animal-safe" dye has left the toy and turned every inch of water in my tank deep green. I am already on top of a water change, but was wondering if I need to cycle new water, or if this dye is safe to leave a small bit in.
I know some people dye their axolotls??? Weird if you ask me but hey to each their own, but I'm not sure if that dye is the same as this dye, or if either are safe at all!!
Please let me know your thoughts. All advice is appreciated!!

I’ve heard of people trying to colour their acids, also injecting them with iodine to try and force a change (and usually killing them in the process!!!)

Personally, I’d continue with water changes although slightly bigger, and testing the water regularly to determine if it needs a cycle.
Not the greatest advice, and very late! Hopefully this is already solved for you now & your axie is all good

Do big water changes daily i.e. 75% for about 4 days - do not touch your filters

If you can test your pH, high range pH, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate asap that would be great.

Then we can help if your cycle is an issue
