Hey, I honestly don't know if this kind of post would be tolerated(if it's not, I'll take it down) but I have no idea what other place I could post this and get a reaction that's not "what's an axolotl"
I had a really strange and vivid dream about axolotls. Now, I don't believe every dream has a meaning, but I do feel that they can when it's something really specific (like axolotls) or vivid, where you remember so much details.
I'm a high school junior, and my school's been pushing me to decide what I want to do for the rest of my life. I've always loved everything aquatic (except the ocean, screw that), and I live in Michigan, the Great Lakes state. I really want to pursue a career in aquatic biology, but I've been struggling to find a lot of information on it. I think this dream might be connected to it? I dunno, but here's the dream:
____________
There's this 60 gallon aquarium I've been looking at, 48" x 24" and a foot tall(in my dream, it was two feet tall instead of one)and in my dream, it was in my bedroom, teeming with life. There were an astounding variety of plants, and many beautiful fish in it, including neon tetras, x-ray fish, ghost knifes, a few African cichlids, and 6 Axolotls (2 wildtypes, 1 golden albino, 1 melanistic, 1 dirty Lucy, and a beautiful, vibrant pink leucistic).
Now, despite all the hazards you can imagine with those fish(different temperature needs, different night day schedules, different parts of food chain, basically everything was wrong), the fish tank functioned flawlessly for a few months, maybe even a year? I dunno, I just remember thinking that it was a long time.
One day, I woke up and fish were everywhere on the floor, including the beautiful leucistic and one of the wild type Axolotls. The aquarium was fully intact, the lid was shattered, and almost the entire livestock of the tank had jumped out. I addressed the fish first, as they were smaller and dying faster, and axolotls have small lungs, so I decided that they could handle being out of water longer.
For some reason, I didn't yell for help, and started frantically picking up fish. Most fish were dead or dying in my hands. Some fish were trying to eat each other on the floor. One fish corpse I picked up was hollow, and a long green centipede crawled about in it. Few fish were lively and went back into their aquarium, most of the fish were dead, and I put them in a bucket.
All that were left were the two axolotls. They were both giants, at least 18 inches, perhaps even 24 inches, in length. The leucistic was girthy, so I'm assuming it was female? The wild type looked really slim and muscular. The Lucy was closer to me, so I picked her up. She was super heavy, but didn't struggle at all, letting me carry her. If she did move, it was a small movement to try and be more secure in my grasp. I placed her back in the aquarium, and she went to a hiding spot, seeming to be as healthy as ever.
I turned to look at the wild type, and walk over to inspect him. One of his legs seemed to be injured from the fall, so I decided to take the same gentle approach. This guy was NOT having it. He fought me the entire time, desperately trying to jump out of my arms and back on the floor. He was so slippery, and just as heavy as the Lucy, but I refused to drop him. Finally, I managed to get him in the tank. Instead of enjoying being back in safety, he jumped out of the tank again and crawled down my person, his now suddenly reptilian claws piercing through my clothes and digging into my skin. He ran to the corner and I chased after him. This seemed to be what he wanted, as he opened his jaws to reveal crocodilian teeth before leaping upon me and clamping onto my throat. I then woke up.
________
So, any possible dream interpretors? Has anyone else have had weird axolotl dreams?
I honestly am so confused about everything, I'm not good with obscure symbolism. If this post doesn't fit on here, I'll delete it or whatever.
