Welcome "OTTO"

Hey, congrats on ya new axie.

It is a she. It looks like a she.

She a cool looky axie. I like the golden albino types... I find they are always the biggest in size. (But that might just be from my investigations and interpretations)

Very cute

I think it's a she too.

Great looking axie Mellisa. I'd be careful with that gravel of yours though, it looks like your axie could swallow that along with a mouthful of food pretty easily. This has happened to me so I'm just giving you an early warning, you may not be experiencing any problems with it though.

The pet shop said it was axie safe, but they have given me a bum steer once already! just to be safe i am training Otto to handfeed from the surface. Mel...

Very pretty Mellissa! Otto looks like a she to me at the moment too.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
