Question: What Did I Just Buy - Melanoid or Dark Wild Type?

I heard that a local pet store had hundreds of axolotls for sale. All different morphs, all different sizes. I decided to check it out and I wasn't disappointed!

I had intended to get a black melanoid, but saw this cutie and found it very pretty.

But is it melanoid?

I have it in a bare-bottom plastic tub at the moment...and I am not the best when it comes to photographing my axolotls.

I put a black trash bag under the bin, so maybe it will get darker...but what do you think? Dark Wild Type or Black Melanoid? What's the deal with the green eyes? The pet store dubbed them "Demon Eyes."

I haven't tested for GFP yet as I have misplaced my black light. Do you think that's the cause of the green eyes?

So part of the melanistic or melanoid is that there is no shine around the eyes. The green eyes are the gfp gene.

Thank you - definitely no shine around the eyes - so I have a GFP melanoid!
