I raise a lot of different aquatic species, and I keep a list of safe parameters for each of them. I like to feed that data into Excel so that it will alert me whenever my tanks are reaching unsafe parameters. This probably sounds over-the-top, but it's a big time saver for me - I have a lot of tanks to look after!

It bugs me that when it comes to axolotls, no website ever lists precise hardness values. They'll say medium/somewhat hard/hard, but there isn't really a consensus on what that means. I'm having a hard time (no pun intended) deciding which values to enter. What do you consider ideal? What about "just ok"? What would you look for as a sign that the hardness needs tweaking?
