I have a large aquarium style tank 24x12 in
(60x30 cm)long and am trying to find a species of frog or toad to stock it with. I would welcome any suggestions i need something fairly hardy that is happy at room temperature and does not require extra heat or cooling. So far my experience of anurans are my two oriental fire bellied toads.

I reccommend Whites tree frogs. I have had HUGE success with mine, and they are easy to care for if done properly.
Temperature is usually around 68to 72 degrees, preffereing cooler temps at night.
They like lots of climbing space. Mine were very active at night, being nocturnal and all.
The one thing to be careful of is changing water often, (they like to poop in there), and overfeeding. Whites can become very obese, and their faces look like they are melting! I think it is called a symptemic ridge on the side of the face that grows really large, and becomes unhealthy.

Oh right thanks. I did think about treefrogs. Do they require a heat pad or not?

it depends what them temperature of the room they are kept in, but some do...You can find the proper temp gradient for each species on their care sheets.

I have kept leopard frogs and the american tree frog, there both pretty easy to care for but I find tree frogs easier to take care of.
