Hi everybody,
I'm about to buy a couple of Triturus marmoratus with regular documents of captive breeding origin.
What about when my marmoratus reproduces? What should I do to legalize every son/daughter newt that will be? I live in Italy, is there any marmoratus italian breeder who can tell me what to do?

I think you haven't, cause if their parents are LEGAL you won't have any problem with their sons. But i'm not italian, it's my point of view. So you may look for more dates in Fauna Department.

The thing is, T.marmoratus is not native to your country, and ít´s not under CITES regulations. Therefore, depending on your local laws, which you will have to check, you may only need a simple transference document that states that the animals are CB, the number of them, your address, etc etc...you know the standard transfer document.

This could be difficult to answer and I think you really need some advice from an italian member.
Over here in Germany as far as I know you have to register every European newt at your local authorities (and I think that is European legislation, not national, but I am not sure). And you have to register every offspring as well. If you sell the offspring, they have to be de-registered at your place and re-registered at the new owners place. Therefore you will need to have official papers.

Maybe I didn't well explain myself Fer: I wanted to know if I should register all the little newts that will come from the eggs of the LEGAL newts that I am going to buy.
Than Daniel, do you think I should go re-register the newts that arrives by mail to my home?

I have no experience with T. Marmoratus but the better thing to do is just call the Corpo Forestale dello Stato and ask what you need
