Hey guys, I'm really concerned about my little GFP Mookie! About an hour ago I noticed something weird on his bum region. It look to have blood-type vessels, but is translucent. He refused food last night, as well. Which he's done once before, but the next day he ate just fine, so I didn't think anything of it. He's still his normal active self and I don't see anything else odd, just that creepy bump. Sorry for the crappy pics, but it's difficult to get a good pic of it.

It's a prolapse. It could repair itself, but you really need to find a vet who can help you fix it. It's quite small, but could get bigger unless dealt with.

That's so true I totally agree! it happen a lot to other reptile and salamander and with axolotl the chance on healing is much better than most. But right now you should keep your axolotl in the most cleanest environment ( fresh water clean tub in the fridge) think of it as the hemorrhoid he need cold and clean place to heal . I would sneak in just very very tiny little aquarium salt for boosting electrolyte to speed up the healing process. But keep him clean 24/7 . It will eventually gets better . I have seen the worse possible scenario before and yours is far better than ok right now, so just move him and let him heal.

It is a prolapse. What has it been eating and how often? Hard food, foreign objects, parasites, and a number of other things can cause prolapses. Small ones can self correct.
