What is wrong with this axie's skin? Or the water even? Please Please help.

The parameters and temperatures are fine.
A: 0, N: 0, N:20 and usually around 17C

I have never had so many problems with this little dude. His skin looks like it's peeling or flaking. He was bought in September at about 1.5 inches so now he is about barely 6 inches. He's survived an infection.

He has always had floating problems. He gets bubbles in his stomach and would be floating oddly.

I am not ready to give him up yet and it looks like he is still interested in eating.

Please please help me.

He looks a bit skinny. Also mine are 2 months younger than yours and they're already 9 inches. What are you feeding him?
Have you tested pH? When was the infection and how did you treat it?

There was an infection earlier where there was cotton, This was last month. So we gave him antibiotics for a few days following the instructions. Basically he bit his own tail and got and infection. But now he's been like this. He isn't that skinny when you look at him from the top though.

PH is 7.5.
water hardness is at the max...condo living, I can't add a water softener.

I use Tetra aqua safe but I never used Tetra easy balance.

Can anyone visually see the skin and see that it's flaky and what the cause is?

Did this start right after the infection or just now? What kind of antibiotics did you use? Did a vet prescribe them to him? Antibiotics aren't often used with axolotls, usually salt or tea baths are all that's needed.
I would take him to a vet.

Try Indian almond leaves. They should help soothe his skin and have a mildly antibacterial and antifungal effect. You can use the leaves or teabags. Order them off the internet if your local LFS doesn't stock them. If you can't get them, try a tea bath (one cup of cold ordinary black tea made with dechlorinated water to every 10 litres of water - just add it to the tank).

Woot the axie is better now. I realized the tank was too big for the kitty guy and he was getting pushed around by the water, the current is low but still. He is well again in a smaller tub until he grows a little bigger. Thank you everyone
