I'd imagine it is a Tiger Sal. Are there any markings/coloration you can see? Sorry the pic is upside down making it difficult to get a good look...

I would get it out of the water. Feed it earthworms. It would help to know approximate size.

Its already 12 here tonight i will switch him in the morning to subsrate.. how much water does he need? Should i do a bowl big enough to swim in? Or a small shallow bowl?

This is the bowl we was thinking of using.. with river rocks inside and substrate pilled up the outside so easy entrance\exit

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
