My son's tiger salamander has seemingly recovered from a long period of illness and is now eating like there's no tomorrow. I was wondering if anyone could give me an approx. age at which they stop growing. We've had him for around a year now and he's 9 inches long. Obviously no growth at all during the almost 5 month long period period when he wasn't eating.

So, I'm curious to know if he will ever grow any longer or if he's past the time when he was likely to significantly grow in size regardless of how much he now eats.

Many thanks.

Amphibians typically grow throughout their lives, although it slows down considerably as they age.

I hope he grows more. I think my son will be more confident in handling him if he grows bigger. I'm not referring to an excessive amount of handling. Just when it's necessary.

Thanks for the reply!
