I really want to get one, but When I google ''Tiger salamander for sale'' it comes up with backwaterreptiles.com and unergroundreptiles.com and a bunch of other vendors that do not have good reviews. So where do people get them from nowdays online?

I get mine from Craigslist, it's a rare find, but it happens. Where are you located? I could stand to sell one of my smaller ones to a good home.

You won't find ads here for Tigers because they are so rarely captive bred. It has happened, but not for years. But yes, Michael is a source. He can't advertise them on this forum though, although he does advertise his many cb newts.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
