Hi folks,
may i ask which is better Coconut Coir or Bark chip substrate for terrestrial setup?
i am currently using Coco Coir but i read up it might foul up easily and bark chips seems to last longer. but i have some doubts will the salamander ingest the bark chips and get sick?
i am referring to small sized bark chips by zoomed which are washable and reusable :D

Another question.
i was browsing around local pet stores and looking for cork barks, driftwoods, slate rocks for shelter but i found some very cheap Coconut Shells 5-6 inches in diameter instead. they looked like good caves for smaller species, can these be used? they are lightweight and looks very natural, and they cost only 1 dollar each..
thanks
