Lately we've been noticing that there are bubbles/foam looking stuff on top of the water in our Axolotl tank. Blacky (our axi) is eating normally, we havent changed or added anything to the tank and the water quality is all normal.

Does anyone know what might be causing these bubbles/foam substance on the top of the water?

Normally high levels of organic debris will cause froth and foam to gather on the water surface. This causes changes to the water tension and as a result also predisposes dust and microparticles to settle and accumulate.

Regular water changes, siphoning of detritus, rinsing filter media and using activated carbon granules will help alleviate this problem.

Thanks for your reply! We did a water change this helped a lot...It has not reoccured since.
