I have had my axolotl for quite a while now and he has been completely fine, but just recently I have started noticing white fuzz looking things on his gills. He still eats and swims fine like it isn't there, but I looked it up an it may be some sort of fungal infection. I have aquarium salt ready to give him a salt bath if needed, but I just wanted to check with you guys to see if it was an infection or just fuzz before I did it. It is only some small pieces right now, and they do fall off every once in a while. The attached image is of some fuzz that fell off (sorry for poor image quality). Also, I have school and I am split between two houses so if it comes to it would one salt bath a day be enough? I heard they should get two a day but I just don't have the time to give him that.

My axie had a similar problem. Try changing it's water, and then wait a few days to see if the fungus clears up on it's own. A salt bath should really only be a last resort.
