ive just noticed my black axie has white toes..im not sure if hes always had them or if they have just become more prominent. hes only young and not yet at sexual maturity so perhaps they will turn black when he reaches it? its not a disease though right?

I heard that white toes on a black axolotl mean sexual maturity (the opposite to leucistic axolotls) but if yours is very young then..........I have no idea.

On an afterthought, it might be fungus. Does it appear flaky at all? If it is a fungus administer a salt bath.

ive found black toes or white one dont mean anything. i had a 10cm axie that had black toes and im sure he wasnt sexually mature. but ive read its a chemical buildup they get when theyre mature. just seems wierd to me

My axolotl is around 12cm in length and is sexually mature(it has a swollen cloaca indicating that it is male).

hmm hes not flaky im not real sure ive had them for two months and they have grown about 4cm in that time when i got them all the pet shop said was that they were babies im not real sure exactly how old they are thanx anyway guys! xlu
