Today they ran out of fruitfies and I won't be able to get any til wednesday morning because I work 3-11 every day til then and can't afford the trip to the store that sells them (an hour away). Will my morphs be okay without food til Wednesday? I put some thawed bloodworms in there in case they do end up smelling them and get hungry enough to eat them.

Hi Corrina,

Try the thawed bloodworms for sure. That is what I feed my morphs. It is also healthier for them than the fruitflies (so I hear). If they don't eat them on their own, try hand feeding them with a tweezers. (I do this with my morphs.) You can even try tiny pieces of chopped earthworm. Just dig around in your yard

Good luck

Tiny chopped pieces of earthworms work well-as do frozen bloodworms but IME it is a tricky to get them eating bloodworms from tweezers(if they catch on that it makes feeding much easier though). I think earthworms, blackworms etc. have more nutrition in them compared to FF's

Okay, I just chopped up a live earthworm. Gross, but it had to be done. So far, the babies are ignoring the pieces, but hopefully they will come around. I can get fruitflies as soon as Tuesday. Finding anything small enough for them is a pain, but I'm going to try checking out whats available on the internet for them.

Also, the pieces of chopped earthworm stopped moving right before I put them into the morph's area. It seems that if I chop them up small enough, they won't move. Is that okay?

You could try putting them on something like a piece of straw and offering it to the morphs. Otherwise, look around for smaller worms.
