Wishful thinking? (T. taliangensis)

While feeding my T. taliangensis today I lifted a piece of cork slab and found one of the males on top of the female with forelimbs interlocked. It has been my impression that this species breeds in the water however these two were on land. Could this be a precursor to breeding behavior?

My T. taliangensis also breeding in this month, the female is on top of the male, and the male using his forelimbs interlocked the forelimbs of the the female.

Pictures would be very interesting Carlos!

This species can mate inside the water, but also on the land like T. shanjing and T. kweichowensis. Amplexus occurs usually.
