Right my tank is coming next week. yay the moment ive been waiting for! so ive got the tank and the sand. sand needs cleaning a few times but going to do that once my boyfriend moves into his new house. i haven'y quite decided how im going to transport all the water from my current tank to the new house in 1 or 2 trips. ive got 4 buckets and gus and gretch will use up 2 of them.hmmm.ill have to put all of my juveniles in plastic tubs.might have to buy more buckets.moving house is awkward when you have axies.lol. any information for the journey would be great and really appreciated. its only a 20 min car ride so wont be in car long.

Claire - congrats on the new tank, it's always exciting setting up a new one.

I always saved up gallon milk jugs to move water with before I had to move any aquarium. They are easy to move, have lids and are easy to carry. Kind of late advise for you though.

Perhaps more buckets are in order, you do want to take as much of your old water with you as possible.

I have my tank. yay! its just over 3ft long and is quite tall. the sand is all washed and is in the tank. the thing is....its an old tank and has a built in filter and i dont know how to maintain it etc.lol.ive been told to take everything out of the filter when it needs cleaning and just clean the spongey bits and the weird shaped white things....? then put them back in place in the correct order. hmmmm.lol. anyone know what type of filter im talking about?lol. sorry i dont have a clue about filters so dont know technical terms.

Hey, I have a tank like that. It's not set up but it was for fish. Can you take a picture and post it? I think I can help you out if I can see a picture of it.

ill get a picture of it tonight and hopefully post it tonight or tomorrow sometime.i wont be able to get a picture of the actual filter because like i said its all built in. the intructions aren't very good that was given to me with it so thats why im so confused.
