Wood for aquatic setups

I was at the pet shop the other day and I noticed that they sell wood to put in fish tanks. Is this wood okay for Caudates? (particularly Axolotls)

Be careful in pet shops. Some of the wood pieces they sell for reptiles do NOT do well in aquariums. Be sure you get wood intended for water.
