I got my 4 axolotls today!!! one is missing 3 feet, but he looks healthy i think he is having a hard time walking over the big river rocks i use for the bottom... Anyway thanks to mike shrom for these little guys! Wish me luck! (How fast will these guys grow?) Anyway i will post somepictures tonight i think! Thanks everyone

Congratulations! Don't forget to post pics of your dragonfish as well cos I don't know what they look like! How big / old are your axies??

I would say they are about 3+ inches long atleast, guess im going to have to wait until tomorrow, i dont want to use a flash and it got to dark to take pictures.... Okay i will post some pictures of the dragon fish, (IF i can get a good one they are hiding alot. lol there cool but kinda weird looking.

Okay here is the Dragon fish, couldn't get a picture of mine, (there hiding lol) but mine are around 12 inches (bigger than the ones in the picture) they are cool to have kinda so ugly there cute lol

Cool! They look like something I would keep. What to they eat and what is the other fish in the tank in the bottom pic?

I love those things! I had one for a while, but had to get rid of it due to a lack of proper tank space.

Shrimp pellets mostly, how they eat is really interesting, they scoop mouthfulls of the substrait rocks and sort out the food then spit the rocks back out... They are a brackish fish, but mine live in regular water just fine (i do have alot of salt in my tank but nothing compared to brakish) They alos need someplace dark to hide, like pvc. And the most important part, only one per tank, if you have to the larger one will make the smaller ones life a living hell.

Congrats Andrew. I got 3 from Michael a month ago. Their legs and feet are pretty much all grown back and they are growing and eating very good.

What colors did you get?

HAHAHA I just gotta say that my dragon fish is WHITE. lemme see if I can get a pic in here..

I think we should start a dragonfish forum

These things look great! Are they native to America or what?? Are they easy to look after - fresh or tropical? And how big do they grow?

I really gotta get a better pic... lol DON'T suggest it!! I can barely keep up with the reading here as it is!! Then there are the furry critter boards... human critter boards (my kids) and occasionally the fish boards.. oh yeah, bird boards. ROTFL... but I'm happy to talk fish any old time you want!

This is so you can look up info on our fish.

There definately cool, just only have one per tank, unless there is ALOT of room. THe bigger one will seriously bully the smaller one. Mine is a little over a foot long and pretty big around. Thats cool/weird that your dragon fish is white!
Im glad i helped someone discover something new that they liked, kinda feel like i gave back something you know?

Yeah, the problem is I live in Australia and I reckon its gonna be impossible to get a dragon fish over here. Maybe I'll have to settle for an eel instead. Now I know there's a forum for those .
