I've been feeding mineral dusted D. hydei and lateralis roaches but I was wondering if I could feed my young newts in their terrestrial phase minced worms by putting them in a dish and leaving overnight. This way, I'd have a good idea of how much they're eating.

worms are good for any type of amphibian (newts included) but should not be the only source of food, ensure that eyed food is also provided ie.. crickets etc.. this is to prevent Hypovitaminosis A which can cause short tongue syndrome, infected skin, swollen eyelids and a general failure to thrive.

I just wasn't sure if they'd 1) come to a container to feed and 2) if it was safe to leave them minced in that container overnight. They'll still be getting vitamin dusted roaches (repashy calscium plus).
Thanks for the replies.
