Worms?

Hi, i recently purchased 2 Axolotls from my local pet store and they have been doing fine up until now. I noticed some small white worms swimming in the tank, i have been feeding them frozen blood worms so i thought perhaps some eggs had survived being frozen and they had now hatched as they look exactly the same except for the colour, so didnt get too worried. I have now noticed 1 or 2 worms attached to the sides of my axolotls and also that a number of the worms have turned into small green flys on the surface of the water. I have removed/killed the flys and done a 50% water change but am unsure how to completely get rid of the worms and remove the ones from the axolotls so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

How often do you do waterchanges, maybe do several waterchanges 20-30% (every 3 days) over the next week or two and see how it goes. Do you use a siphon to clean up? Do you clean up any uneaten food (after 20 minutes)- Also, check under any decos/caves, between plants. Use a turkey baster, also to clean any other waste.

Gnats. They lay eggs at the surface of the water. They won't harm your axolotl, but can be annoying. You want to remove any worms you see and kill them, as well as any of the adult flies. Clean the substrate well with a siphon and this should help a little.

Thanks alot for the advice guys, good to hear they cant harm my axolotls. I have been cleaning the tank every 5 days so i will start cleaning them a bit more often. Wot i dont get is how the worms got in there in the first place
