Worst tank ever!!! Help!

I was very suprised at how well he did cus usually when I talk about water quality his eyses kinda glaze over. Hes always saying, I dont get it, why is water supposed to have 'good' bacteria in it. I was thinking of jsut using the stress zyme stuff to kickstart the cycle cus i would much rather rectify the ammonia thing instead of just using a quick fix
 
just a quick note, did another ammonia test today. Now its .5 which isnt perfect, but much better than it was before hand
