Question: would this filter system be ok for an axie?

hey guys, the tank i'm getting in a few days (3ft) comes with a Trio 2000 filter system, just wondering how this would fare with regards to water movement/keeping the tank clean etc. i've been advised to buy a fluval 2+ so if the trio 2000 will cause too much stress to an axie i'll go ahead and buy one of those.
