I noticed one or two yellow spots had appeared on one of my axolotls in the last month or so and they have steadily grown in number. They are on both sides of the body, with the majority on the top and bottom of the lotls grooves. The colour of these spots are about the same shade of yellow as my golden lotl and my other wild coloured lotl has a small number of these spots so as you can imagine I'm getting rather worried.

Has anyone else seen this? Or better still can someone tell me what these spots are?

Thanks
Lauren

Those are xanthaphores - normal coloring for a wildtype, and very pretty!

That's what I thought at first, then they appeared on my other wild and I was like AHHH ITS SPREADING!! Haha thanks for easing my mind, panic over :D
