1. Who on here breeds C.O.?
2. What do you all use as lids for your tanks?or, what do you use to make sure the newts dont get out?
 
I myself do not breed Co's, but I use screen lids for all my tanks. I like the visibility afforded by screen, and the more ventilation the cooler the tank will be. Just make sure they are secure lids, as fire bellies are great escape artists.

I use a screen lid or tank "hood" top, depending on the setup. Screen lids have the (big!) advantage of keeping the water several degrees cooler, due to better evaporation. But they have the disadvantage that it's more difficult to have a light over the tank, and more difficult to rig any cord or tubing through the lid (it cannot go under the lid, as the resulting crack is large enough for escape of small newts).
